CountrySTAT Kenya Recent TWG Meeting ToR

1. To harmonize and validate data between published data on CountrySTAT website and FAOSTAT Questionnaires for the following indicators:-

  • a. area and production for major crops (maize, wheat, rice, beans, sorghum and millet) for the last three (2008 - 2010); 
  • b. To harmonize and validate data for live animals for the year 2010 between CountrySTAT and FAOSTAT Questionnaires; 
  • c. To harmonize and validate data for seed product for major crops (maize, wheat, rice, beans, sorghum and millet) for the last three (2008 - 2010) between CountrySTAT and FAOSTAT Questionnaires; 
  • d. To harmonize and validate data for Milk production for the last three (2008 - 2010) between CountrySTAT and FAOSTAT Questionnaires; 

2. Update the National Correspondence table with an updated list of ALL agricultural products in Kenya ( i.e. including all local variety products) and finalize a system for the classification of the products in order to assign specific codes to each local variety of culture in the local nomenclature in the correspondence table;

3. Update the sub-national domain with production data for up to 2010; 

4. Harmonize the Core and Sub-National ; 

5. Update the trade data with the 2009 and 2010 data for major commondities;

6. Collect and upload trade data for 2008-2010 in the exchange area;

7. Update the price data with the 2009-2010 datasets (Producer price data for Major commondities, Retails prices for Maize and Beans and Wholesale prices for Major commondities) ;

8. Update the remaining Key Indicator with 2009 and 2010 data;

9. Update the Metadata of ALL the published tables;

10. To come-up with advocacy activities of the CountrySTAT  and visibility among the  other participating partners; 

11. To discuss the sustainability of the CountrySTAT in the country. This will involve the discussion and the fixing of dates for the 2nd Administrative Training for the Focal Instituations and TWG members;

12. Discussion on data dissemination calendar and data cycles (Questionnaire data and CountrySTAT data availability);  

13. Adoption of international statistical symbols for example in missing data etc.
